Advanced Resource Technology Lab
The Advanced Resource Technology Group was formed in 1988 to provide leadership in developing and using geographic information system (GIS) mapping to help answer natural resource questions. The lab can provide assistance in GIS project development, data acquisition, and spatial analysis for agriculture, natural resources, and rural development projects.
In addition to using traditional remote sensing and GIS techniques, researchers are developing the next generation of GIS-based modeling and simulation tools, including artificial intelligence, intelligent visualization, synthetic environments, and semantic-based data mining.
The lab helps users from across the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with GIS use, provides advice and training on database development and analysis, and offers technical review of proposals. In fact, our faculty promote and assist in developing GIS instructional resources and curriculum to help the college, university and the State of Arizona.
