Seminar: Redefining Regenerative Agriculture: An Indigenous Perspective

Abstract:
The term Regenerative Agriculture like Organic Agriculture is the common "buzz phrase" used to promote a holistic way of crop management. Regenerative Agriculture is also said to have its roots tied to Indigenous  "Ways of Knowing." However, the definition of Regen Ag does not go far enough in attributing its concept to Indigenous farmers like the Hopi. I will make the argument that is not just the techniques or processes attributed to the Hopi way of farming that makes it regenerative, but the underlying Hopi belief and culture system that makes Hopi agriculture so resilient.
